One Year Chronological Bible Study

One Year Chronological Bible study seems to be pretty popular this year. The idea is to read the entire Bible in a year, in chronological order (in other words, as it actually happened). Many people don't realize that the Bible isn't written in chronological order—which is fine, it's how God ordained His Word be presented—but it seems to me that reading the Bible in the order it happened can certainly help with comprehension.

If you're interested in starting your own chronological study, here are a few options:

  • Search Amazon or Christianbook.com for One Year Chronological Bibles. These Bibles have 365 daily readings, which makes less work for you. They come in various versions (NKJV, ESV, NLT, NIV, etc.), so pick you're favorite. If you're the creative type and like the NLT version, the Expressions Bible has images to color and lined margins for notetaking.
  • If you'd prefer to use your regular Bible, that's fine too; there are chronological plans available online—just Google.
  • You can also find chronological studies on Bible apps like Olive Tree and YouVersion.
  • If you're on Facebook, find a chronological Bible study group on FB. Being part of a group gives you the ability to fellowship with others doing a chronological study, ask questions about things you might not understand, and post what stands out to you or what you've learned for the first time.

Read the Word and deepen your relationship with the Father!
